The outside world was startled by the Amish response to the killing
of five Amish school girls in Nickel Mines, Pennsylvania. This presentation
explores Amish forgiveness and its relevance to the non-Amish world.

plot to destroy the Horseshoe Curve rail site near Altoona, PA in
1942. FBI’s arrest on July 1, 1942, of 225 Altoonans as suspected
Nazi sympathizers.

“RARE AND MEDIUM RARE: PLANNING AN ENVIRONMENTAL
BUILDING PROJECT"
An Introduction to the State Library of Pennsylvania, including
History, Mission, Services and availability. The presentation will
also include an overview of the state-of-the-art Rare Collections
Library. This project includes standards for three different integrated
storage environments, i.e. security, lighting, air quality, microbial
filtration, fire suppression, temperature and humidity. This state-of-the-art
approach is now being studied via a research grant awarded from
IMLS and supported by the national Archives.
